The MIS Software Engineer evaluates user and process requirements to develop functional design specifications, codes, debugs and tests software applications which integrate with production databases and equipment. Responsible for maintaining existing software systems, designing and implementing new solutions and creating technical documentation.
General Responsibilities
• Collaborates with developing complex software in selected languages for Sensata products and/or applications consistently following Sensata’s coding standards and in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes
• Key participant in the development of software to control external hardware for automated test equipment and other applicable development
• Organizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process
• Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionality as part of a software project
• Organizes participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
General Responsibilities
- Key participant in the design and development of MES production applications covering the data pipe integrating shop floor to enterprise application with systems.
- Working on Smart Factory Solutions as part of our Industry 4.0 Strategy
- Taking part in modifying and optimising existing systems, leading development of new opportunities
- Collaborating with various internal teams and external vendors on software projects
- Creating reporting tools for end users
- Providing production support for existing systems and processes developed by the MIS team
- Training end users to use new functions and systems
- Analysing and interpreting a wide range of different data relating to production outputs
- Assist in resolving priority incidents to quickly eliminate impacts, participate in root-cause analysis, and support subsequent corrective and preventative actions.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Essential Requirements
- Experience of SQL Server 2012 or greater
- Experience writing basic SQL queries to perform light database administration tasks.
- Experience of two or more of the following VB6, VB.net, C#.net, ASP, ASP.net, Rest API Creation, Agile, Cyber Security Protocols.
- Ability to rapidly adapt to change and absorb new technologies.
- Track record of delivering high quality solutions through a project delivery or ongoing continual improvement in an operational role.
