If you are an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for audio, wearable and out loud devices, and machine learning, we want you to join our Consumer Electronics Software Sophisticated Development group.
As a Senior Embedded Machine Learning Software Engineer at Bose, you will be developing software to bring our products to life, including Bose’s industry leading Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones, in the home audio products, and other innovative product form factors. You will work collaboratively with a group of outstanding engineers and user interface designers to engineer our next generation software architectures and deliver innovative new products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with research and product development teams
- Design, implement and deploy innovative software features for new products
- Use your strong embedded background to deliver ML based features
- Craft and integrate modular software that is maintainable, scalable, and reusable
- Develop validation methods to prove performance of machine learning based features
- Pioneer processes and dev-ops to deliver ML based features
- Contribute to all phases of the product software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, automated test, release, support, and documentation
Requirements:
- Experience with sophisticated embedded software in a resource limited RTOS based system
- Experience/capability to implement math elements on embedded/DSP processors
- Experience with modern C/C++ (11/14 or later) in an embedded environment
- Experience with Python and unit testing frameworks
- Experience with multi-threaded and/or multi-core applications
- Experience with frame based real-time data processing
- Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Proven track record to potentially lead technical teams
- Has delivered firmware for at least one product successfully launched into mass production
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with debugging hardware using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals (Tensorflow Lite, PyTorch)
- Knowledge of audio, signal processing, Matlab is a huge plus
- Knowledge of Bluetooth/BLE and other wireless communication protocols
- Knowledge of sensors and common serial protocols such as I2C, I2S or SPI
- Knowledge of assembly language development
- Knowledge of FreeRTOS (or equivalent) application development
- Knowledge of Linux application development
- Knowledge of compilers, parallel programming, and computer architecture
- Knowledge of full stack development
Education:
- BSEE/BSCS/BSCE minimum with at least 5 to 10 years related work experience
