The Lead Frontend Engineer (Screen) directs the development of the Screen product, showcasing expertise in JavaScript, NodeJS, web frameworks, build tooling, CI/CD, and performance. Responsibilities include guiding the team, influencing architectural decisions, and leading feature development. This role aso emphasizes on code quality, collaboration with cross-functional teams / stakeholders and driving innovation.
You will be working on:
- Leadership: Take on a leadership role, offering technical guidance, mentorship, and direction to a team of frontend engineers. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for fostering a productive working environment.
- New Feature Development and Enhancement: Lead the development and enhancement of Screen features, collaborating closely with the product team to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Responsibilities include implementing new functionalities, optimizing performance, and ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Code Quality and Best Practices: Contribute to continuous code quality improvement by promoting best practices, conducting code reviews, and establishing coding standards. Maintain clean, well-structured, and efficient code.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other engineering teams, to align priorities, gather feedback, and ensure successful project outcomes. Strong stakeholder management skills are crucial for effectively communicating progress and managing expectations.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and advancements in web engineering. Demonstrate a passion for innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement, constantly seeking ways to enhance the user experience.
We are looking for:
- Web Engineering: Strong knowledge of web technologies and fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript(very strong), Reactjs, NodeJs, NPM, Webpack and related technologies.
- Backend technologies: Good exposure in NodeJs as our application is server side rendered. You should also be familiar with the runtime environment, package management using npm, and working with Node.js modules.
- UX / Performance - Strong opinions and value system around user experience and performance. Exposure to performance debugging & monitoring tools like New Relic.
- Build and CI / CD tooling - Good exposure around build tools like Webpack and CI / CD systems.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise when building on top of existing functionalities. You should be adept at troubleshooting, debugging, and finding effective solutions to challenges.
