What we need
We are looking for a Senior Industrial Controls Engineer to join our Industrial Automation team within our Industrial Controls and Robotics organization. This position will report to the Manager, Industrial Controls Engineering and will play an important part in driving the execution of the PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) development and implementation.

The Industrial Automation team is part of the Industrial Controls and Robotics organization which develops products for our warehouse automation systems. With a proven track record in industrial control specification, design implementation, standard engineering practices and documentation; their mission is to research new platforms, utilize advanced hardware, and push the limits of technology to build a world-class automation platform that minimizes development time, reduces commissioning time, and eliminates unplanned downtime.
What you’ll do
Gather information and validate requirements to execute root cause analysis to resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide new control system functionalities and modify existing solutions which includes PLC and HMI.
Document equipment configuration, system functionality and features, and Industrial Controls team processes and procedures.
Collaborate with Release management and perform PLC and HMI updates for the customer, on-site or remotely.
Elaborate test strategies and perform tests using a framework to validate logic and SCADA changes.
Execute test plan, generate test reports, and demonstrate compliance with requirements.
Support customers to address unforeseen issues.
Organize and participate in peer reviews.
Lead the design effort for a dedicated system.
Contribute to and potentially lead process improvement initiatives.
Mentor and assist Junior and Advanced Controls Engineers with daily work tasks.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering or Automation Engineer or Computer science or in a related discipline.
Knowledge of Power Systems to design drive controls.
Experience with AC/DC Drive Control Architecture.
Minimum 8 years in Design & Implementation of Industrial Control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and Drives.
Minimum 8 years of Programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems (Rockwell products preferred).
Minimum 8 years’ experience with automated systems engineering.
Advanced experience programming Rockwell PLC’s (ControlLogix, GuardLogix).
Advanced knowledge of Industrial networks.
Experience developing and programming Human Machine Interface (Ignition 8, FactoryTalk ME/SE).
Able to understand and read electrical and mechanical schematics.
Strong background in troubleshooting complex automated system.
Experience with JIRA and agile methodology.
Having experience of organizing a team and prioritizing tasks.
Knowledge in Rockwell and Inductive Automation products is a plus.
Travel approximatively 75% to various customer locations (Canada and United States).
