The Principal Engineer will serve as a technical expert on the design and architecture of a new data supply chain using GCP - Google Cloud Platform Technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead small, product focused, scrum team.
- Design and develop solutions to complex use-cases and issues.
- Serve as a technical expert on the design and architecture of new Data Supply Chain platform .
- Work closely with other internal teams (e.g. Product, IT, Engineering) to ensure that any product issues are clearly communicated and resolved in upcoming releases.
- Perform root cause analysis for technically complex issues with the goal of resolving the problem
- Provide documentation and training on the use and support new Data Supply Chain platform to other internal teams as necessary.
- Well organized, disciplined and able to manage time and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills. Shows judgement when communicating with different seniority levels, different cultural backgrounds, and different stakeholders.
- Organized and a logical problem solver. Uses data to make decisions. Provide thought leadership and logical best practices
- Show confidence even when faced with uncertainty or extreme challenges.
- Ability to think strategically and push themselves outside of their comfort zone.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years experience developing and maintaining applications.
- Experience leading small agile development team.
- Required to have strong development skills in the following areas/languages: Python, Spark, Kafka or (AWS SNS & SQS), SQL, Cloud Computing – AWS/GCP.
- Technical skills such as Snowflake and Amazon EMR are preferred.
- Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem assessment/solving skills.
- Experience working with large datasets and manipulating schemas.
