Brief Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated O365 Security Engineer to join our team. As an O365 Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure and policies within our Office 365 (O365) environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the protection of our organization's data, applications, and systems, while also mitigating risks and responding to security incidents. This role requires a strong understanding of O365 technologies, security best practices, and industry standards.
Essential Key Responsibilities/Job Summary :
- Design and implement security measures to protect our O365 environment, including but not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and other O365 applications.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines for O365 to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze security events, alerts, and logs to identify potential security risks, vulnerabilities, and breaches.
- Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning on O365 systems to proactively identify and address security weaknesses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement access controls, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and encryption mechanisms to safeguard sensitive information.
- Manage and maintain O365 security tools and solutions, such as Azure Information Protection, Azure Sentinel, and other security-related applications.
- Stay up to date with the latest O365 security features, updates, and emerging threats, and provide recommendations for their implementation and mitigation.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to end-users and promote a culture of security within the organization.
- Collaborate with external vendors, security auditors, and legal teams to ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations.
Education/Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge and experience in implementing and managing security controls within an O365 environment.
- In-depth understanding of O365 applications, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
- Familiarity with industry security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and their application in an O365 environment.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as Azure AD, Azure Information Protection, Azure Sentinel, and third-party O365 security solutions.
- Proficiency in security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and provide appropriate solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
