The Senior System Engineer will be responsible for engineering, optimization, automation, and administration for Dun & Bradstreet data center and cloud environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
·Resource will support the day-to-day operations of infrastructure systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
·Work with Architecture, Security, DevOps, Business, and Application Development teams to choose appropriate technology solutions and facilitate complete integration into the D&B cloud or datacenter environments.
·Develop new infrastructure implementation plans, automation, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability and performance.
·Accelerate the transformation from datacenter-centric design patterns to immutable, automated, and highly-available cloud-based infrastructure.
·Support all development efforts by various application teams.
·Adherence to Change Management process and deploy Application / Infra related changes on Windows Servers (Production environment)
·Develop and support operational standards and governance for all data center and cloud based platforms.
·Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
·Evaluate and recommend optimization, automation, and other tools associated and integrated with data center infrastructure and cloud based providers
KEY REQUIREMENTS
·3-4 years experience supporting Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and/or Windows systems
·2-3 years experience with AWS and/or Azure
·3-4 years experience with VMware / Virtualization Technologies / Private Cloud technologies
·1-2 years experience in performance moniting applications environments with application performance monitoring (APM) tools (AppDynamics, NewRelic, etc) required
·2-3 years experience in management and operations of datacenter hosting environments/faciliites; design, engineering, optimization, automation, administration, & migrations.
·2-3 years of experience in developing / operating large scale distributed services / applications
·Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high traffic/throughput, distributed, scalable systems
·Strong knowledge of data center technologies (Wintel servers, Linux servers, Citrix, Storage, backups, etc)
·Working knowledge of Configuration Management and Orchestration Software (IE: Ansible/Chef/Puppet/Saltstack/Terraform, Packer) required
·Working knowledge of any RDBMS such as Oracle, MySQL, or Postgres
·Experience with any of the scripting languages Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, Python, Bash, Powershell required
·Enterprise infrastructure experience required
·Self-motivated and results oriented;
·Ability to work independently, plan workload and deliver on commitments;
·Proven communication and organizational skills.
Educational Requirements:
·Bachelor’s Degree or equalent job experience in the industry required
Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
·AWS Certifications preferred
·Linux Certifications preferred
