About the Role:
Zscaler and the Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) team are seeking an Architect (ZDX) with a strong background in architecture and development to lead our initiatives in handling telemetry from tens of millions of devices. The role is centered around expertise in monitoring, observability, root cause analysis, and includes hands-on engagement with AIOps and various machine learning frameworks.

Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) is a monitoring and observability platform that provides insights into the digital experience of users and applications. ZDX leverages AI-driven analytics to offer real-time visibility and diagnostics across any location, network, or device. It enables organizations to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, enhancing user productivity and IT efficiency. ZDX's advanced capabilities include network and application performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and AI/ML frameworks for automated problem detection and resolution. This platform is essential for businesses seeking to optimize their digital infrastructure and ensure a seamless user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize systems for processing and analyzing telemetry data from tens of millions of devices.
- Develop advanced monitoring and observability frameworks to ensure optimal performance and reliability of these large-scale systems.
- Design and implement services that provide root cause analysis of complex application and network performance issues.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate robust monitoring solutions into the broader system architecture.
- Engage in hands-on technical work, applying AIOps tools and practices to enhance system capabilities.
- Explore solutions, through POCs or otherwise, to continuously improve the data retrieval queries that handle AI/ML or dashboard workloads.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MS or BS in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in system architecture, with a focus on handling telemetry data from tens of millions of devices.
- Comprehensive understanding of monitoring, observability, and root cause analysis in complex, large-scale environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AIOps and related technologies.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or Go.
- Expertise in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience in machine learning and data analysis, with familiarity in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
- Networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP protocols (HTTP, DNS, SSL) is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and adopt new technologies.
- Strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills.
Optional Qualifications:
- Experience with Kusto or Azure Data Explorer.
- Understanding of network protocols and security best practices.
