Please note: This role is hybrid with 2 to 3 days in the office. Not considering remote.
As a Software Engineer / Backend Developer you will share your talents with us in the following ways:
Design, code, debug and refine programs specializing in server-side technology
Collaborate in a 20+ team using a lightweight agile development process
Work closely with our Technical Product Owners to understand requirements and develop solutions that adhere to industry and Room & Board standards and optimizes the customer experience
Estimate and manage timeframes and dependencies
Participate in group improvement activities and initiatives to improve quality and pursue excellence

The tools and technologies you’ll use, and the experience you’ll bring as a qualified software engineer / backend developer:
Minimum of 5-7 years relevant development experience with permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without corporate sponsorship
Demonstrated knowledge of and use of Java, Spring and object-oriented analysis and design
Ability to write and optimize queries for MongoDB and PostgreSQL and display an understanding of databases
Experience and desire to dabble in DevOps (Docker, Tomcat, Ansible, CI/CD) a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot operational issues
Experience with code reviews and performance tuning
Proficiency with unit testing
Experience working within an Agile development framework
A curious learner who stays abreast of technology and industry best-practices

Salary: $110000 - $130000 / year
