We are looking for passionate, skilled, and experienced DevOps engineers to join Wherobots’ dynamic team in building the geospatial cloud database of the future, its cloud platform, and control plane. As a DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying and maintaining the backend infrastructure and services that powers our innovative geospatial database and Wherobots Cloud environment. You will help define and implement Wherobots’ infrastructure-as-code and our staging and production environments, and will drive the implementation of our production operation processes and best practices to deliver a secure, reliable, and highly-available enterprise SaaS solution to our customers.
As a DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of Wherobots’ infrastructure-as-code and corresponding staging and production cloud environments. You will help define and implement our production operation processes and best practices to deliver a secure, reliable, and highly-available enterprise SaaS solution to our customers.
We are 100% cloud-native, and build our product using modern and reliable tools and technologies. We use Python, Java, and Golang services deployed on cloud-based Kubernetes environments.

Responsibilities
Design and implement a modular, secure-by-design, reliable-by-design, and self-service infrastructure-as-code platform to support our product engineering team
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software
Optimize performance and reliability of the backend infrastructure through continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and improvement
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cloud infrastructure technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and automation
Qualifications
Strong technical background, including 5+ years of experience in building and operating software services in cloud environments, with a focus on observability, scale, reliability, security, compliance, and high-availability.
Proficiency with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Google Cloud
Solid understanding of networking, databases, cloud environments, modern web technologies and protocols
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a hybrid or distributed team environment
Compensation and benefits
Wherobots offers competitive compensation, equity, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is $150k-$275k per year.
Although we aim to establish a primary engineering presence in the San Francisco Bay Area, we provide flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location, seniority, skills, and experience of the candidate.
