Our R&D division is growing globally, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Engineer to join our dynamic team at the new R&D site in Bangalore, India.
As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will be a crucial member of the SolarEdge India R&D team, responsible for developing embedded systems and firmware for our advanced solar energy products. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and testing embedded software, ensuring its reliability, performance, and seamless integration with our hardware platforms.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the design and development of embedded systems and firmware for SolarEdge's solar power products, including inverters, power optimizers, energy storage solutions, and communication interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to define system requirements and architect innovative embedded solutions.
- Develop and implement efficient and reliable embedded software in C/C++ for various microcontrollers and processors used in SolarEdge products.
- Conduct thorough testing and verification of embedded software to ensure its functionality, performance, and compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug embedded software and hardware interactions, identifying and resolving issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members and ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in embedded systems to propose and integrate cutting-edge technologies into SolarEdge's products.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and validation teams to support the production and testing of embedded systems during the manufacturing process.
- Support the certification process by providing necessary documentation and technical inputs to comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's (B.E./B.Tech.) or master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech.) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded systems design and firmware development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++, with hands-on experience in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal development.
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and embedded system architectures.
- Hand on experience in ARM based processors such as TI DSP Controllers, ST, Renesas etc.
- Good knowledge of RTOS concepts is desirable.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems.
- Working knowledge on the protocols and devices driver for SPI, I2C, UART, CAN
- Design and implement control algorithms for digital control of power electronics systems, such as DC/DC converters and DC/AC Inverters operating at high switching frequency.
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in developing control algorithms for Power electronics converters/Inverters
- Experience developing device drivers and execute a tight interrupt loop in bare metal implementation.
- Experience in optimizing firmware algorithms to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Working knowledge in using JTAG/SWD debugger.
- Experience in board bring-up, peripheral integration, and device driver development.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering robust and reliable embedded software.
- Knowledge of software development tools, version control systems, and debugging tools for embedded systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the renewable energy or power electronics industry is an added advantage.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during product development. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in power electronics and firmware technologies.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key player in our India R&D team, responsible for developing and enhancing SolarEdge's next-generation solar energy products and technologies. Your expertise and leadership will play a vital role in shaping the mechanical design and optimization of our solar power products, ensuring their reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the mechanical design and development of solar power products, including inverters, power optimizers, energy storage solutions, and other cutting-edge technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and industrial designers, to translate product requirements into innovative and feasible mechanical solutions.
- Utilize advanced CAD tools to create 3D models, conduct simulations, and validate designs to meet product performance and compliance standards.
- Perform thorough analysis and testing of prototypes to assess mechanical performance, identify potential issues, and drive design improvements.
- Optimize designs for quality, manufacture-ability, testing, assembly/automatic assembly, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while adhering to project timelines.
- Participate in design reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior mechanical engineers to foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless transfer of designs from R&D to production, resolving any design-related issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Support the product certification process by providing necessary documentation and technical inputs to comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's (B.E/B.Tech.) or master’s(M.E./M.Tech.) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10 + years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the renewable energy or power electronics industry.
- Working with electronics hardware/product engineers to integrate thermal considerations during product development.
- Conduct thermal analysis using analytical methods and/or simulations (CFD) for heat dissipation in Power electronics systems.
- Product testing to validate CFD/analytical models.
- Develop/manage vendors for thermal components like heatsinks, sheet metal etc.
- Hands-on Experience with heat sinks design/testing, enclosures etc. would be preferable.
- Experience in Thermal/FEA simulations Softwares like Ansys etc. would be preferable.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with simulation tools for thermal, stress, and vibration analysis.
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (plastic, extrusion, die casting and sheet metal) and assembly techniques for high-volume production.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex mechanical design projects from concept to production.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations related to product design and safety compliance.
- Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
- Experience with solar energy products or power electronics design is an added advantage.

As a Senior Power Engineer at SolarEdge India R&D, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and optimization of power electronics and power electronics systems for our advanced solar energy products. You will be responsible for driving the innovation and technical excellence of our power solutions, contributing to the success of SolarEdge's mission to make solar energy more accessible and efficient.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the design, analysis, and development of advanced power electronics and power systems for SolarEdge's solar energy products, including inverters, power optimizers, and energy storage solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, Mechanical Engineers/Designers, PCB Layout Engineers, and firmware developers, to ensure seamless development, integration, and optimization of power systems.
- Conduct power system studies, such as load flow analysis, transient stability, and harmonic analysis, to assess system performance and reliability.
- Perform detailed design and analysis of power electronic circuits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed design documentation, Schematics, BoM, and test procedures.
- Lead the testing and verification of power electronics and power systems, both in the lab and field, to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and guidance to the team to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to support the transition of designs from R&D to mass production, addressing any design-related issues during production.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Bachelor’s (B.E/B.Tech) or master’s (M.E./M.Tech) degree in electrical /electronics Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics or Power Systems.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics design and power system analysis, preferably in the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
- Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices (Including SiC and GaN), gate drive circuits, and magnetic components used in power converters.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., PSpice, LT SPICE, Simulink etc.)
- Knowledge of power converter topologies (e.g., DC/DC, DC/AC and AC/DC), including resonant and bi-directional converters and grid-tied inverters.
- Excellent knowledge of PCB layout rules, considering high-current traces, thermal management, creepage, clearance requirements for HV and LV traces.
- Ensure compliance with best practices for power distribution, component placement, and impedance control.
- Implement EMI/EMC best design practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with international safety and regulatory standards for power electronics and solar energy products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
