Lead AI Architect
United Kingdom
The launch of EinsteinGPT and associated product capabilities in H1 2023 has changed the strategic product direction of Salesforce. The technologies are evolving rapidly, backed by substantial investments, both internal and external. This requires the Solution Engineering function and organisation to also invest in planning, engagement models, resources, skills, education and enablement so that we are fully prepared to support the short and long-term goals of the company at a UKI Operating Unit level.
Following the first hire of a Principal AI Architect in September 2023, the UKI SE architecture practice is now looking to extend the team size with a further AI specialist operating at the Senior or Lead level.
Role Definition
We seek an experienced AI specialist to support the evangelisation and positioning of the full Salesforce portfolio of existing, new and still-to-be-released products and capabilities across the machine learning and LLM/GPT domains. The individual will work within the UKI Solution Engineering architecture practice alongside the existing Principal AI Architect and their time will be spent primarily in external prospect and customer engagements, with a secondary role advising and enabling the wider Solution Engineering organisation plus System Integrator partners in the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
You will be a technical authority for all aspects of AI usage within the SF product portfolio - existing Einstein ML-based capabilities and new (2023) generative AI, under the headline brand Einstein GPT, with both parts of the overall Einstein1 Platform.
The role will have the following responsibilities
- Customer/external engagement (approx 80%) for UKI prospects, customers and partners
- Evangelisation of Salesforce’s AI capabilities
- Assessing customer requirements and use cases with alignment to these capabilities
- Solution proposals, working with other Architects (pre and post-sales) and wider SE teams. This includes working with SI partners within sales cycles
- Support for AI pilot projects (creation of a pilot best practice reference model). Will be subject to qualification based on overall AI and data strategy, deal value and strategic importance.
- Support creation (with the Principal AI Architect) of reference models/ideas/approaches for inclusion of GPT-based products within wider Salesforce solution architectures, especially involving Data Cloud
- Alignment with customer security and privacy teams on trust capabilities and values of our solution(s) including the ethical use of AI.
- Presenting at multiple customer events from single account sessions through to major UKI events (World Tour etc.)
- Supporting SI partners including initial enablement activities on Salesforce AI capabilities through joint pre-sales opportunity support
- Internal activities (approx. 20%)
- Create impactful and reusable shareable assets for the SE organisation. Develop these and align them with industries and business processes based on inbound requests and customer engagements.
- Align with Product Managers to understand current capabilities and future roadmap. Work with the Manager and Principal AI Architect to agree on specific areas of specialisation
- Co-operation with ancillary product SE teams across MuleSoft, Tableau and Slack on their inclusion and use of AI
- Represent UKI in regional SE AI initiatives
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years working directly in the commercial technology space with AI products and solutions
- Academic qualification to degree level (minimum) in computing/computer science. Qualification should involve an AI-related subject (ML, deep learning, NLP etc.)
- Minimum 3 years working in a sales, pre-sales, success, consulting or related function in a commercial software company
- Experience in presenting and communicating complex concepts to large audiences
- Self-management and organisational skills, able to prioritise work based on evaluation of different requirements.
- Team delivery, working with large, sometimes fluid groups in pressurised environments to deliver challenging complex proposals, solution designs and solutions
- Ability to communicate efficaciously up, down and across an organisation, summarising concepts, scenarios and situations to senior internal and external individuals and teams, including positioning negative recommendations or proposals.
- Continuous learning attitude with a demonstrated history of self-enablement and advancement in both technology and behavioural areas.
