Role Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of next-generation products, with a focus on mechanical engineering fundamentals across key areas. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on doer with some managerial experience, capable of taking a product from concept to market. This position demands strong expertise in thermal, structural, manufacturing, and aerospace fluids.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Mastery:
Apply expertise across the core mechanical engineering disciplines: thermal systems, structural analysis (FEA), manufacturing and assembly (DFM), and aerospace fluids (CFD).
Product Development:
Lead and contribute to projects that go from concept sketches to functional prototypes and eventually mass production, ensuring a completed product lifecycle.
Collaboration:
Work in tandem with cross-functional teams, including Hardware, Software, and Product Management, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into the broader product range.
Quality and Safety Standards:
Conduct rigorous design reviews and implement best practices to maintain high-quality and safety standards for products.
Industry Experience:
Leverage past experience to prove expertise in delivering market-ready products, whether as part of a large project or a smaller product release.
Management and Leadership:
Provide managerial support to junior staff and project teams while spending a significant amount of time on hands-on, technical work.
Communication:
Effectively manage up and down the organizational chain, conveying technical challenges, milestones, and needs clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Cost-Effectiveness:
Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure feasibility and cost-efficiency in design and production.
Adaptability and Learning:
Display a coachable attitude and a willingness to adapt to new methods or technologies.
Qualifications:
Solid experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on the core disciplines.
Industry experience in developing and releasing products or major product components.
Ability to manage multiple aspects of engineering projects.
Proficiency in numerical tooling software for FEA and CFD analyses.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, from an institution with a hands-on focus.
Ideal Candidate:
A results-oriented engineer with a track record of hands-on technical work and some managerial experience. The candidate should be from an institution that emphasizes practical, hard work over academic theory and should be capable of managing effectively both up and down the organizational chain.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
