Nuts.com is a self-funded, profitable, rapidly growing multi-channel DTC specialty food and wellness company with over 550 people on our team. We're changing the landscape of snacking on nuts, dried fruit, chocolate and more! We planted our roots in Newark, New Jersey during the Great Depression, selling premium nuts on Mulberry Street's open-air market. We've come quite a long way since then, taking our multi-generational family business online in 1999. Even after 94 years, we continue to pride ourselves in expertly sourcing the highest quality foods and treating our customers like family.

The role:
This software drives dozens of food-safety, sourcing, production, and fulfillment processes for facilities across the country. You'll work on a small team with a modern codebase building top-of-the-line software in a domain that rarely sees innovation like this. Our team has built this system from the ground up with a keen focus on producing clean and maintainable code. We describe ourselves as "pragmatic perfectionists," always striving to produce the highest quality code while delivering new features that are absolutely critical to supporting the demanding growth of our business.
Ruby on Rails experience is key, ideally in a large codebase with a focus on long-term maintainability and stability. Understanding the fundamentals of good data modeling and SQL queries is important. AWS and Docker experience is a plus.
What you'll do:
Implement and deploy new features for the Nuts.com warehouse operations software
Opportunity to make immediate contributions to our Ruby on Rails warehouse management system
Interact with the end users of your features, and see the direct impact they have in supporting Nuts.com's rapid growth
Partner with cross functional teams including Operations, Finance, Merchandising and Sourcing to develop new features and create great user experiences
What you'll bring:
5+ years of professional software development experience
BS in Computer Science or related field
Substantial experience with Ruby on Rails
Track record of designing clean, maintainable, and well tested code
SQL expertise
Experience developing, deploying, and supporting mission-critical web applications
Willingness to communicate directly with operators using our software in the warehouse environment
Willingness to improve and enforce development and Agile delivery best practices
Hands-on experience with AWS tools and services is a plus
Ability to work independently, but also to collaborate with your peers in tech and other disciplines as needed*We have a hybrid work environment in our beautiful and state of the art office in Jersey City**

Annual Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 plus annual bonus

Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience and qualifications for the role. Base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include short & long term incentive compensation. In addition, employees are eligible for our standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and 401K match.
