ERG is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to independently manage a facility HVAC maintenance program at a federal facility site in Indian Head, Maryland. The qualified individual must be motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG’s Chantilly and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Alternative work schedules may be considered.
Job Description:
- Develop, maintain, and manage a preventative HVAC maintenance program to support manufacturing facility infrastructure
- Support heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) program by reviewing system designs and selection and managing ongoing maintenance and integrity of existing systems
- Develop and implement testing and associated analyses to evaluate the mechanical integrity of HVAC systems, including in-field assessments for operating facilities
- Prepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as preventative maintenance status reports and long-term upgrade budgetary projections
- Direct and assist HVAC technicians in planning, maintenance, and repair
- Collaborate/communicate effectively with other stakeholders internal to, and external to, the design team (e.g., engineering and manufacturing departments)
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate/communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Education and/or experience in designing fire alarm systems and sprinkler systems and developing FPS drawings and specifications
- Have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Ideal Candidates will have:
- Experience with Process Control Systems such as programmable logic controller (PLC) ladder logic and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming
- Specific experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens systems
- Relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Knowledge to apply engineering skills toward process equipment, facility operations, and maintenance
$75,000 - $100,000 a year
