As a Camera Systems Architect on our Hardware team, you will lead the design and development of Verkada’s newest camera products. In this role, you will be the key part of defining new camera technology. The position allows you to work on wide range of of topics including hardware & architecture definition, and hands-on characterization.
Responsibilities
- Engage and establish relationships with strategic vendors spanning silicon and optics, staying up to date and influencing component roadmap and emerging technologies.
- Perform research and prototype new products for proof-of-concept studies.
- Define and architect new hardware products in collaboration with product, design, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Lead JDM teams to efficiently and effectively execute and complete programs.
- Lead architecture and component selection of critical components including but not limited to SOC, lens, and image sensor.
- Own end-to-end product development including product requirements, schematic capture, placement, layout, module assembly, system integration, factory test, and validation.
- Establish and document best practices for design, component selection, and product architecture.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering; M.S. preferred
- 5+ years NPI experience shipping hardware in volume
- 2+ years experience in designing and manufacturing camera products
- Ability to travel internationally up to 15%
