Overview
The Principal Engineer for Real Estate Lending (REL) Technical Services will serve as Practice Lead, Subject Matter Expert, and Consultant for all the initiatives in REL Technical Services. This individual must become knowledgeable in our current on-premises and SaaS systems landscape and make recommendations around product architecture, design, and modernization. The principal will be consulted on REL Technical Services' strategy, design, engineering, and integration efforts. The Principal Engineer will provide technical expertise on innovative solutions that leverage the latest technologies, such as PEGA, .Net, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and the Azure cloud. The principal will create and implement solutions for Real Estate Lending and draw out functional requirements from business subject matter experts. The candidate will manage the architecture and delivery of projects/products, which will require close collaboration with the Technology Product Owner and Technology Product Managers in REL Technical services, REL business units, vendors, and other horizontal departments in ETS and also support the development of a roadmap that addresses the necessary milestones needed to support the initiatives in REL Business and Technical verticals.
Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in distributed and cloud technologies to support REL systems around Azure Cloud, PEGA, .Net, Java, Mulesoft, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM platforms.
Experience in SaaS platform administration and configuration to include best practices around security methods.
Experience in establishing CI/CD/DevOps automation for the products.
Ability to perform fit gap analysis on current technology options and recommendations to technologies more in line with the modernization of the REL Technical Service and interfaces into the products.
Drive the development and effective use of NFCU's Anchor Platforms to deliver efficient business processes, management information, and analysis to maximize functionality.
Lead project deliverables by developing and implementing a flexible change management methodology/ framework for the delivery of projects and working closely with IT for integration into the existing IT change management process.
In partnership with Other IT Horizontals Leaderships, manage and build relationships with third-party vendors to achieve cost efficiencies and ensure that service level agreements are established and met.
Lead the creation of technical requirements for the implementation of business solutions.
Responsible for mentoring REL technical service team members and managers.
Provide production support activities through planned releases, break-fix resolution, and emergencies.
Perform research, procurement, deployment, and configuration of systems.
Present clear, organized, concise information to audiences to enable business decisions.
Provide input and make budgetary recommendations.
Provide technical leadership in architecture discipline and development of IT solutions.
Provide oversight and responsibility in following the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices.
Identifies, analyzes, architects, designs, develops, and maintains cost-effective information technology solutions that align with business initiatives and corporate strategies.
Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, and operating systems environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external controls, and output.
Identifies and resolves conflicts between proposed solutions and existing systems to ensure compatibility.
Responsible for consistent, concise, relevant, reliable, and timely information to all appropriate internal and external stakeholders through various communication channels.
Works directly with Technology Product Analysts and business partners to support the development of the project backlog, including daily Scrum meetings, user story refinement, and sprint management.
Performs root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues causing recurring technical problems quickly.
Ensures the accuracy of information communicated to support project leadership decision-making effectively.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science.
Experience with Agile methodology (SCRUM or something similar). Experience with pair programming.
Experience with Azure Cloud, PEGA, .Net, Java, Mulesoft, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM platforms, including D365 custom entities/fields, views, dashboards, interactive dashboards, model-driven apps, business process flows, workflows, and business rules.
Experience in Azure Cloud and application technologies.
Advanced hands-on experience/knowledge in Web Services, including REST, OpenAPI specification, RAML WSDL, SOAP/XML-based web services, RESTful web services, XSD, XPath, XQuery, and XSLT.
Assist with unit testing, integration testing, test automation, and user acceptance testing before production deployment.
Experience in Business Workflow, Analytics, and procedural analysis.
Ability to lead independent teams, exercise initiative, and use good judgment.
Experience supporting modernization efforts for high-volume financial core systems.
Able to effectively manage and mentor team members.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Advanced hands-on experience and programming knowledge with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and .Net framework, Mulesoft, or PEGA, customization, workflows, configuration, development, deployment, and data migration.
IT Industry Certifications in the area of Scale Agile, .Net, Dynamics, or PEGA in good standing.
Familiarity with the financial industry – knowledge of Real Estate Lending.
