The Enterprise Engineering Okta on Okta Team

The Director of Engineer, Okta on Okta Opportunity
As the Director of Okta on Okta Engineering, you will report to the Sr. Director of Okta on Okta and be a key member of the leadership team that will lead our Enterprise and Customer Identity implementations of Okta’s products and services internally. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Okta on Okta’s Product Team, as well as Okta’s broader Security, Product, and Engineering teams, to improve our product capabilities as well as interface internally with Business Technology partners to implement the most secure enterprise IAM program. This is a high-visibility position that reaches every part of Okta
What you’ll be doing
- Partner with Okta on Okta program leadership to develop and execute a strategic vision for Okta’s enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) program, implementing the most secure IAM program utilizing Okta’s own products and services
- Establish deep expertise in how Okta’s Identity Cloud can transform our customer and employee experience
- Build strong relationships and credibility with Okta Engineering and Product organizations to champion Okta on Okta as a Voice of the Customer. Influence new product features and/or enhancements to enhance our customer and employee experience to benefit Okta and our customers.
- Establish operational cadence for testing and release of new platform features, including operationalization of desirable security and compliance features by handing off to Okta on Okta’s L3 in India for enhancements iterative improvements
- Manage and mentor the Okta on Okta technical team in North America, responsible for implementing Workforce Identity Cloud and Customer Identity Cloud capabilities enabling both our internal and external customers for a world class Okta experience
- Driving the creation of materials that support our Sales and Marketing teams with our go-to-market efforts. This includes presentation narratives and materials for our Customer Experience Center (CEC), whitepapers and blog posts, Oktane and other event session materials as a component of every feature release
- Steward our customer showcase experience for Okta’s products and demonstrate the benefits that can be attained by a leading-edge implementation
What you’ll bring to the role
- 10+ years’ experience in technical, business, and/or IT roles
- 6+ years’ experience implementing and/or supporting enterprise IAM solutions, product management, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of developing and executing on enterprise IAM programs, delivering complex projects at scale and developing a competitive advantage in the marketplace
- Advanced knowledge of general industry IAM concepts and best practices
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as NIST/FedRamp, SOX, SOC, ISO, SOC2, PCI, ZeroTrust, SaaS Security Framework, Data Security Foundations, etc.
- Executive level communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence C-level leaders, external customers, and regulatory bodies
- Experience managing numerous, competing demands from stakeholders while maintaining excellent and on time delivery
- Exhibit strong leadership and influencing skills in a complex, matrix environment and demonstrates the ability to broker agreements among diverse, differing, or completing priorities and perspectives
- Confidence working within SDLC and agile methodologies
And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!
- Okta Workforce, Okta Customer, and/or CIDPro certifications a plus
