About the team & opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Director of Engineering, Quality and Technical Support reporting to our SVP, Engineering.
The role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to lead the efforts of best-in-class Quality Engineering practices to ensure the delivery of high quality products to customers and the rapid resolution of bugs. This includes leadership of both Quality Engineering, who develops test automation and frameworks in support of new product development, as well as leadership of Support Engineering, who provide the interface between front line customer success and engineering.

What you’ll do
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Automation and Support Engineers, advocating a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Continuous Development: Oversee the development and implementation of automation best practices, including identifying flaky tests ensuring the resolution of bugs and
- Transform: Support team creates in-app functionality for our customers to access support at their fingertips
- Partner: Work closely with cross-functional leaders to understand business needs an integrate quality engineering solutions across our applications
What you’ll bring
- Education: A degree in a technical field (e.g. computer science, or engineering) is preferred
- Management: 5+ years leading an Quality Engineering department, in a remote environment
- Evolution: Experience building and leading empowered teams, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment involving many partners and subject matter experts
- Automation: Experience with modern end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey quality engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
