Primary Purpose:
The DevOps Engineer plays a vital role within our business’ software development life cycle (SDLC). Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to establish and automate continuous delivery pipelines. This role focuses on infrastructure management, continuous integration and deployment, and optimization of the development and deployment process.
Major Functions/Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure and Pipeline Management.
- Develop and maintain platform infrastructure.
- Define and develop continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Create Infrastructure as Code.
Developer Experience:
- Implement solutions to optimize development and streamline the deployment process.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance the development experience.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate build and release activities with various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams to establish code quality metrics.
- Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure seamless integration of deployment processes.
Continuous Improvement and Expertise:
- Proactively seek system and process enhancements.
- Apply problem-solving skills within the team’s domain.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Delivery best practices.
Required Education, Experience, and Specific Job-Related Skills:
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Required Experience:
- Software Development: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in or with software development teams, focusing on building services, and enabling increased software development velocity.
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): Minimum 1 year of experience with CI automation tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.
- Infrastructure Automation: Minimum of 2 years of experience with infrastructure automation tools, including Terraform, Ansible, etc. Clear understanding of GitOps.
- Programming Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in programming languages, understanding of declarative programming concepts.
- Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of expertise in AWS or other cloud providers. EC2, Route53, Elastic Cache, ECR, S3, IAM
- Systems and Networking: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with operating systems, including Linux and Windows. Demonstrate a robust understanding of networking principles, encompassing both conceptual knowledge and practical application. Showcase proficiency in storage, compute and memory management, reflecting a solid grasp of foundational computing concepts.
