Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Architect with a strong background in developing cloud security products. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in C programming, Unix, Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and databases. Additionally, the candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of HTTP, SSL, and TCP/IP protocols.
This development team works on a control plane for ZIA. Develops solutions for fault tolerance, highly scalable with DR capability control plane systems and databases. Being responsive to our customers and delivering industry-leading mission-critical solutions require precise engineering and a philosophy of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of complex networking applications with a focus on performance and fault tolerance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine software requirements.
- Develop and implement high-level software designs, taking into account scalability and security considerations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in networking and security.
- Drive the integration of PostgreSQL databases that should be highly scalable and fault tolerant.
- Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the software development process.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Evaluate and implement cloud security measures to ensure the highest level of protection for our systems.
- Document and communicate results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 12+ years of software development experience in large-scale commercial networking oriented applications
- BS/MS degree (Engineering, Computer Science)
- Proven experience in developing large-scale networking applications.
- Proficiency in C programming, Unix, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Strong in fundamentals - High-performance Computing, Event-based programming, Multi-threading, Memory optimization, Fault Tolerance
- Knowledge of RAFT or other db synchronization protocols
- Familiarity with LDAP/AD/SAML/openid/OAUTH2.0 preferred
- Experience in one or more of RabbitMQ, Redis, Kafka
- Strong knowledge of HTTP, SSL, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Experience in designing and developing high-performance, fault-tolerant network security products, such as firewalls or proxy servers, is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other database systems is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to architect and design software systems that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Familiar with the complete software development cycle
- Sound knowledge of Unix and FreeBSD systems internals
- Debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter takes initiative & ownership, identifies and completes tasks; goal driven
- Experience being part of the agile team for collaborative execution
- Software development experience in a small company/startup is a plus
