Job Description:
As the Sr. Finance Manager you will work directly with leadership in driving and evolving the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the Engineering organization, while also leading process improvement and change initiatives to drive efficiency. As we continue to invest in Engineering to support growth in the business, the Engineering Finance leader will play a critical role in developing the frameworks and models to optimize investment decisions. The Sr. Manager will also partner with the CTO organization to develop and measure key operational KPIs. The ideal candidate will have high-growth Enterprise Software/SaaS experience, with a demonstrated track record of success as a finance leader in managing and guiding Engineering organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary finance business partner to Engineering leadership
- Own the roll up of R&D for Forecasting, Planning and Close analysis
- Drive the annual and long-range planning process for Engineering teams, including monthly forecasting and quarterly-close
- Lead quarterly review presentations for the CTO and Engineering leadership
- Partner closely with Engineering leaders, Talent Acquisition and People & Culture to develop and accurately forecast resource planning
- Drive improvements in process, automation, and governance to aid in scale and efficiency of managing Engineering budgets
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure business performance drivers are analyzed and well understood to inform opportunities and risks
- Develop strategic insights and deliver analysis on ROI of investment decisions and make recommendations to senior management
- Partner and train India based FP&A Analyst dedicated to Product/Engineering Finance
- Work with Engineering leadership to develop and assess new strategies to optimize and/or reallocate spend against various initiatives of Engineering investment
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in finance or consulting; background in FP&A, investment banking, or similar experience that understands both financial and operational metrics
- Experience partnering with Software Engineering teams including understanding of key SaaS and Product Development KPIs and metrics
- Ability to think strategically and translate strategic directives into tactical initiatives
- Comfortable presenting to C-level leadership
- Effective at building relationships, partnering within Finance and cross-functionally
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset, strong financial modeling and reporting capabilities
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (or Google Sheets and Slides)
- System knowledge of Adaptive Insights (or similar forecasting tools)
