About the role
We are looking for an industrious and motivated Senior Software Development Engineer to develop our advertising products and experiences. In this role you will:
- Exhibit Technical Leadership within the team and area of expertise
- Design, code and document technical solutions that are scalable, performant, maintainable and secure for our customers
- Utilize and expand a wide range of skills including frontend/backend development and testing
- Advocate for the highest quality of work through unit testing, automation testing, and monitoring
- Provide leadership that helps navigate the team through complicated technical challenges
- Be engaged with all aspects of the agile software development lifecycle: prioritization, planning, defining, scoping, estimating, architecting, implementing, testing/peer review, launching, debugging, supporting and iterating.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to adapt existing technical solutions for advertising use cases
- Help refine how the team and group can work together more optimally through Agile processes such as retrospective meetings.
- Support the growth and development of individuals and the team through interviewing, onboarding, and mentorship
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $156,300.00 - $249,700.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
- 5+ years proven experience in designing, coding, and debugging web applications and backend services
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCPed, or Azure
- Strong knowledge with backend development languages: (Java, Python, Node)
- Strong knowledge of environmental tools such as Storybook
- High-level experience with frontend development in one or more programming languages: (React, Node, NextJS, GraphQL)
- Ability to multi-task effectively and easily adapt within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly learn and integrate new technologies as needed
- Effectively communicate with others on the team including peer code reviews
- Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or have applicable experience
- Passionate about development and emerging technologies
Pluses:
- Experience working with ad serving technologies like Google Ad Manager
- Experience with data engineering and related technologies (Hive, Presto, SQL Server, Redshift, Python, Mode Analytics, Tableau, Redis)
- Proficiency in AWS stacks as well as container orchestration, i.e. Kubernetes
- Experience with GraphQL APIs
- Experience in building products in the cloud
- Experience in addressing large application deployment architectures and concerns such as performance, reliability, scalability, availability and security
