Overview:
The Datto Networking group is seeking an accomplished Software Engineer with experience in WiFi protocols and networking. We want a passionate engineers who loves to network, solve innovative problems and can take ownership in their area of focus to build great products. Collaboration and teamwork are at the foundation of our culture and we need engineers who will bolster this foundation.
This team provides networking and security services managed in the cloud. Datto’s Networking products span from cloud managed devices like Access Points, Switches and Routers to providing services in the cloud for example security.
About You:
- 5+ years of software development and troubleshooting experience with WiFi protocols.
- 5+ years of experience with hostapd, wpa_supplicant and WiFi drivers.
- Expert understanding of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax and associated WiFi standards.
- 5+ years of firmware/embedded programming experience.
- 5+ years of C, linux, and shell scripts.
- B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Good understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack and networking protocols (e.g. DNS, DHCP, HTTPS, SSL, etc.,)
- Good familiarity with wireshark.
- Good familiarity with continuous integration, testing tools, workflows and source code management tools (git)
- Must enjoy learning and be self-motivated with the ability to switch contexts as the needs of the business evolve.
Bonus:
- Experience with OpenWRT
- Experience with ARM SoCs
- Experience with enterprise networking technologies like QoS, firewalls, routing protocols, Netfilter, iptables, Traffic Control, etc.,
- Experience with Qualcomm WiFi chipsets like IPQ40xx, IPQ60xx, and IPQ80xx.
- Experience with WiFi drivers like ath10k/ath11k and QSDK.
