The successful candidate will join the Hardware Engineering team which handles the design, verification and compliance of all Networking hardware products: WiFi Access Points, Routers, Switches, SASE and Managed Power devices. They’ll be expected to:
· Develop and document system level electrical and mechanical validation requirements and test procedures to verify the product specifications and requirements
· Adopt engineering best practices to deliver higher quality and scalable solutions to a variety of Hardware team responsibilities
· Perform technology and feature analysis and provide risk assessment and mitigations
· Enable platform and solution level discussions, influencing architecture of the product, and delivering to product goals across quality, reliability, and performance
· Collaborate with internal, external, and open-source partners to onboard technologies
· Work with engineering & product teams to communicate industry design best practices, actively educate on regulatory requirements for new and existing products and verify compliance through testing, debug and validation activities
· Provide cross functional subject matter expertise on hardware solutions & designs to broader teams within Datto/Kaseya
· Monitor internal requests and establish standard processes to improve efficiencies and provide internal customer support
· Review hardware schematics and be able to suggest alternative designs`
· Contribute to NPI (New Product Introduction) design efforts including market requirements, product specifications, system architectures, interfaces, design FMEAs, DFx, qualification tests, etc.
· Engage with supply chain to qualify alternative suppliers, evaluate cost reduction opportunities and identify improvements in performance and quality
· Lead improvements in quality and reliability based on failure analysis of external RMAs, establishing root cause failures and appropriate corrective actions
· Responsible for ensuring the viability of networking products throughout the full product lifecycle
About You:
Being sharp with an ability to get things done is key. This might be from years of experience but don’t hesitate to talk to us if you’re light on years but heavy on innovation - and you can demonstrate it.
Desired skills and experience:
· Knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standard protocols in 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz frequency band
· Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 Protocols(For Power and Communication)
· Good understanding of Bluetooth profile/protocol, LTE, and Wi-Fi standards
· Familiar with EE and RF parts and its fundamental mechanism and its applications
· Familiar with various electrical and mechanical testing including the use of electronic test equipment to perform tests like Hipot, ESD, EMI/EMC, etc.
· Familiarity with Linux operating Systems (OpenWRT, Ubuntu)
Bonus points for:
· Familiarity with Networking protocols and test equipment like Ixia, VeriWave, Spirent and Octoscope
· Experience with Experience working with Contract Manufacturer (CM), Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM), ODMs and OEMs
· Previous hardware design experience
· Proven track record of bringing up, integrating, and deploying new hardware technology
· Experience managing hardware programs through the entire product lifecycle
· Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
