Job Title: Business Development Sales Manager, CMFG FLSA Status: Salary
Reports To: President, Beverage BU Department: Beverage Sales
Job Summary:
The Business Development Sales Manager will lead the B2B prospecting efforts for customers in the Contract Manufacturing business, specifically Beverage. They will effectively manage and assist the onboarding of new and existing client projects in collaboration with the Account Management team. While Business Development will be the primary function, they will partner with senior management to build channel strategies and work cross-functionally with various departments to ensure the attainment of customer contracts, purchase orders and on-going customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development, including prospecting and networking in industry (focus on Beverage)
Thorough industry market research on trends and opportunities including contract manufacturing landscape
Partner with senior management to develop and communicate customer procedures and policies informed by industry benchmarks
Manage new and existing customer relationships
Create quotes for new and existing customers in collaboration with Account Management & Finance
Participate in effective customer onboarding in conjunction with Account Management
Maintain margin goals for sales accounts in collaboration with Account Management and Finance
Maintain a thorough knowledge of company production capabilities
Build and sustain positive customer relationships
Investigate customer-related complaints and provide timely solutions
Ensure samples are requested and delivered in a timely manner
Provide accurate reports and customer follow up
Input & maintain full customer and project details in CRM system
Travel (~25% SLC based; ~50% W. Coast based) will be required to meet with customers, attend trade shows, sales meetings, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years minimum Sales Management experience in a Food or Beverage Contract Manufacturer or experience with Beverage B2B Sales
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Business Development, prospecting and strong networking experience
Dual focus on delivering revenue in short term, while onboarding new projects for future revenue
Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience using CRM to manage the sales process and forecast sales
Independent and self-driven; advanced time-management skills; strong attention to detail
Planning, organization and problem-solving skills
Additional Abilities:
Sedentary work, lifting up to 10 lbs. occasionally; will remain seated most of the time.
