Job Title: Strategic Account Manager
Overview:
Rantizo connects supply and demand for agricultural spray drone services with a turnkey service platform. We enable industry leading drone applicators by selling drones, support, software and training, and our service platform connects demand for acres to be sprayed to local operators. Rantizo operators fly and apply in 30 states, providing qualified, licensed, and insured precision application services.
Having recently completed a successful Series A expansion round Rantizo is now looking to further build out its commercial team to execute on the strategy and vision. Rantizo is seeking to hire a Strategic Account Manager. The Strategic Account Manager will play a critical role developing and executing strategies that connect the demand of acres that need treated via drones services with the supply of pilots and relevant equipment needed to service these acres.

Job Summary:
The Strategic Account Manager will work with targeted retailers and other ag channel partners to help them develop and execute a strategy for utilizing spray drones to grow their revenue / extend their grower services / maximize their service and value to growers.
As a trusted adviser, the Strategic Account Manager will understand the challenges ag retailers face today and be proactive in identifying opportunities for Rantizo to address those challenges with its service platform and operator network. This role will be comfortable with how ag-tech solutions, both hardware and software, can deliver additional revenue for retailers, and will possess the creativity needed to help retailers overcome challenges to ag-tech adoption within their service portfolios.
Rantizo is a rapidly growing startup focused on building a nationwide service network to support ag retailers and independent spray drone operators. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, high accountability, high impact team. To succeed, the Strategic Account Manager will need a collaborative and creative iteration approach, working closely with Product, Operations, and Partnerships to accelerate adoption of spray drone services in targeted regions. This includes an ability to look beyond agriculture and identify opportunities for spray drones to bring value in other sectors.
In summary, the Strategic Account Manager will be a key player in developing the demand generation of acres and jobs that need serviced by the supply of professional pilots required to service these acres.
Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a key account pipeline, delivering revenue and acres targets
- Identify and engage potential strategic accounts, across both agriculture as well as other sectors, for example public lands agencies like DOT, BLM (Bureau of Land Management), or DNR- large hardware reseller opportunities and acreage contracts
- Partner with VP of Partnerships to identify needs and requirements for operators, and support pilot acquisition and retention efforts ensuring that supply of pilots matches demand needs from Key Accounts.
- Collaborate with VP of Finance to ensure margin targets for serviced acres are met
- Partner with Product to identify software integration needs, advise on requirements for integration with ag retailer systems
- Partner with marketing to develop critical assets and sales enablement tools needed to win with strategic accounts
Direct Reports: Sales Development Representative (1-currently, plans to expand in 2024)
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in agriculture, business, marketing, or related fields (Masters degree preferred, though not required)
- 4+ years experience in business development and/or key account management, preference for experience in agriculture
- Demonstrated capability to develop and expand profitable relationships within the agricultural channel- proven experience in strategic account management- ideally with a focus on technology solutions
- Strong understanding of agricultural retailers’/channel stakeholder pain points, application/digital systems, and overall operational needs
- Broad understanding of ag-tech landscape and/or integration of new technology and services into retail
- Ability to position services and hardware- developing and managing a pipeline for growth
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and data drive approach to decision making
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
- No direct experience with drones required
- Experience as an agronomist, crop scout, crop advisor preferred, though not required
- Remote Position, office is located in Iowa City, IA
