Team/ Role Paragraph:
Coinbase has an exciting Software Engineer role within the Salesforce Platform engineering team. They are responsible for maintaining and growing our engineering team, leading development of custom applications, up-leveling our engineering maturity, ensuring the platform architecture can scale to an enterprise model, maintaining security best practices, and ideating and driving Salesforce evangelism across use of platform teams. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience in Salesforce, Force.com and their ecosystem delivering high quality engineering solutions with hands-on APEX development, API development, and demonstrating clear passion about transforming technology into critical business value. You will report to the Salesforce Platform Engineering Manager and be part of the larger Coinbase Customer Experience Organization.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Develop, customize, and maintain Salesforce applications, integrations, and enhancements using Apex, Lightning Web Components and other related Salesforce technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers, administrators, and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on Salesforce best practices.
- Design and implement data models, custom objects, workflows, and automation using declarative tools.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of Salesforce applications to ensure high quality and performance.
- Integrate Salesforce with external systems and third-party applications using REST and related middleware tools.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on Salesforce platform capabilities, limitations, and potential solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest Salesforce releases, features, and industry trends to propose innovative solutions and improvements.
- Participate in code reviews, peer programming, and knowledge sharing sessions to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
- Document technical designs, specifications, and development processes to ensure comprehensive understanding and maintainable solutions.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 4+ years of experience as a Salesforce Developer with a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce configuration.
- Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST APIs, middleware tools, and ETL processes.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and demonstrate value.
- Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II, are highly desirable.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps tooling/frameworks (Copado, DX@scale, Github Actions, etc)
Nice to haves:
- Experience with teaching/coaching on new features and capabilities
- Experience with on call rotations and 24/7 support
- Involvement with external Salesforce entities (User groups, conference speaker, etc)
- Mulesoft or Workato experience
