Embedded Software Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
Are you looking to put your problem-solving prowess to the test in a rapidly evolving systems security research and development environment? You know that embedded application developers, reverse engineers, and vulnerability analysts all play key roles in the capability development lifecycle. As an embedded developer, you’ll have the opportunity to use skills in C/C++ and assembly language, scripting language, debugging, computer architectures, and networking protocols to support our government intelligence clients. We’re looking for someone like you to have a direct impact on the nation’s security.
On our team, you’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of software projects, technical capabilities, and product design. Working on an agile team of experts, you’ll perform reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis of diverse software problems. You’ll inform operational parameters for complex systems, as well as leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to influence the delivery of your work. You’ll determine what the art of the possible is – what can be done – and then you’ll bring it to life for your clients.

You Have:
6+ years of experience with software system requirements analysis, design, development, integration, or testing
6+ years of experience with software development
Experience with configuration, administration, and development
Experience with Virtual Environments, including VMWare, ESXi, Open Stack, Open vSwitch, and QEMU
Experience with embedded platforms, including Linux, Unix, Android, and VxWorks
Experience with software reverse engineering or debugging tools, including IDAPro, OllyDbg, and gdb
Knowledge of assembly languages and development or reversing
Knowledge of low level systems programming concepts
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with performing embedded software development with platform architectures, including Power PC, MIPS, and ARM x86
Experience in vulnerability analysis
Experience with Unit test development using software test frameworks, including CppUnit, GMock, and pytest
Experience with integrating software systems
Experience with reverse engineering
Experience with DevOps using CI/CD tools, including Jenkins or Bamboo, Python scripting, pipeline development, build systems, and automation
Experience with Splunk
Knowledge of common protocols and standards, including network protocols analysis and techniques, including TCP, UDP, and Proprietary
Knowledge of requirements analysis and configuration management
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
