The LouCity Academy is a professional youth soccer organization based in Louisville, KY, dedicated to developing elite male athletes ages 11–19. The Academy provides a player-centered, development-focused environment that prepares athletes for the highest levels of the game, including collegiate soccer and the professional pathway through Louisville City FC.
The LouCity Academy Assistant Director supports the overall leadership, management, and advancement of multiple boys’ teams within the Academy. This role is responsible for player promotion, on-field coaching, talent development, and operational oversight in alignment with the Club’s playing philosophy and the PITCH values. The Assistant Director reports to the LouCity Academy Director and the Academy Executive Director, collaborating closely to ensure a high-quality player and family experience while driving the long-term success of the boys’ pathway.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provides coaching responsibilities for multiple teams within the LouCity Academy. Primarily oversees U15-19.
- Conduct developmental on-field soccer coaching sessions for all assigned teams within the Academy.
- Collaborates with Academy Directors to create and establish new programs for the upcoming calendar year.
- Ensure consistent communication of the Club’s playing philosophy, style of play, and systems across all age groups.
- Assist with the planning and execution of player tryouts, registration, and team rostering.
- Support the development and monitoring of Individual Development Plans (IDPs), player evaluations, match reports, and feedback processes.
- Manages and executes club-based developmental programming.
- Supports and promotes the club by participating in organization growth opportunities.
- Collaborates with coaching staff to create a positive and productive environment for players and their families.
- Provides players with professional development and college recruitment strategies.
- Monitors the SportsRecruits program for placement of prospective athletes.
- Oversees and maintains updated NCAA eligibility requirements.
- Coordinates team travel for ECNL and other showcase events.
- Assists with scheduling travel for league, tournament, and event participation.
- Directs the scheduling and uploading of the team video.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum USSF ‘B' license required.
- Minimum 3 years coaching experience in the ECNL or comparable league.
- Experience working with youth soccer teams, technical clinics, or camps required.
- Experience with soccer periodization and innovative soccer methodology linked to a playing model.
- Possesses extensive knowledge and understanding of youth soccer.
- Demonstrated ability to teach techniques, tactics, and physical and psychological components of the game.
- Demonstrates a positive, energetic, and pleasant demeanor when communicating with staff, players, and families.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with various stakeholders, including coaching staff and directors.
- Exceptional organizational skills, reliability, and punctuality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to walk significant distances, including up and down stairs, as required throughout the venue, as well as stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, climb, grasp, stretch, stoop, and reach above head in conjunction with tasks.
Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse weather conditions (i.e., heat, rain, cold, snow, wind).
SCHEDULE:
Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays during home games and special events. This role also requires frequent overnight travel to attend tournaments, showcases, and other Academy-related events.
